Berlin and Baron were proud to announce their second litter together.
12 healthy pups consisting of 8 females & 4 males
Date of Birth:  March 6, 2006

All males have gone to their new homes.
The females have been spoken for although
we still have 2 waiting for their families schedules to clear up.
It's fun for us to watch and experience puppyhood.

Thank you to the new owners! I am happy to hear that all is going well.  I can't wait to see your pictures.

Some quick shots from 05/14/2006

Shots from Wednesday at 5/03/06. We currently just have 4 females left at home so now it's time to spoil them silly.

Thank you for your patience this week.  These shots were taken late in the evening on 4/23/06.
They aren't the best shots, but they'll give you an idea of how your pup is growing.
These pups are so much cuter than these pictures are showing.
The pups were outside all day today playing in the 77 degree weather.
They had a blast wrestling and getting dirty.

Shots taken 04/10/2006.  If there is a name next to the name, the pups are spoken for.

Pictures of 2 pups taken on 03/27/2006 at 3 weeks old.
The pup with more red is the male and the other is a female.

Pictures taken on 03/22/06 @ 2.5 weeks.  The pups are all 12+ inches long.
It took 2 LARGE Rubbermaid containers to get them to the vet today.

Exactly 1 week old pictures from 03/13/2006!
All the same male pup.  All pups are about the same size too!

Calendar of Progress

Past Experiences:

  • 03/06/06 Born in our laundry room between 6:00pm and 4:30am the next morning!  We normally have the pups within the whelping box, but our new laundry room addition (still unfinished) worked wonderfully.

  • 03/09/06 Visited Madison County Vet for their first vet visit to have their dew claws removed.

  • 03/12/06 The puppies are growing like weeds - they have already doubled their size!  I'll post new pictures on Saturday March 18th.  After they get larger and more active, I will post pictures/videos at LEAST weekly.  What are they doing now?  They make little puppy grunts and scoot around on their bellies.  Eyes are still closed and they cannot walk yet.  They sleep a lot.

  • 03/20/06 These pups are HUGE!  Their eyes are opening and they are up on all 4's now up and walking short distances.

  • 03/22/06 The pups had their first slumber party at the vet clinic.  We were skiing in Colorado so the         Berlin & pups spent a few days at the vet.  The vet clinic was excited to play with them.  Great socialization and care!

  • 03/27/06 Wow - we went to pick up the pups - they grew entirely too much in 5 days - I was amazed.

  • 03/28/06 We had our first meal - watered down cottage cheese.  They had a blast laying, walking, eating, and slurping in the pan.  It was cute because they were licking the cottage cheese off each other.  I think they enjoyed their first meal.  We do a lot of cottage cheese these first few days and then start mixing in some oatmeal meals here and there.

  • 04/10/06 Starting true puppy food.

  • 04/11/06 Weaning the pups from mother.  The pups are doing wonderfully and Berlin is ready.

  • 04/16/06 The pups are starting to get around pretty well.  You blink and they are off to explore.  It is hard to keep track of 12 pups!  Between all of our guest visits and the neighbor kids, the pups are very well socialized.   I don't believe they've been fully initiated to the swat of a cat, but that will come shortly as they become brave and try to wrestle with a fully grown cat.   The cats do like to get in and eat the pups food so they are like a big happy family right now.  If you have seen my cats, you will laugh - my cats are chow hounds and some are rather obese.  Okay, okay back to the pups.  The pups have full access to dry puppy dog along with two meals of canned/dry mix.  They are doing wonderfully.  SlowPoke is a riot and spoiled rotten.  With as much as that guy eats, he'll catch up with these guys in no time.

  • 04/17/06 - 4/20/06 My internet was down.  If you wrote and I was slow to respond, I apologize.  My husband just found the problem.  A extra telephone wire in our basement was touching some metal.  It's fixed now - yah!

  • 04/18/06 - My mare had a baby filly.  She's healthy and cute as a button!  Her name is Jade.

  • 04/21/06 I know I promised new pictures, but I'm sorry - I have this silly spring cold that snuck up on me.  I sound like Marge Simpson right now.

  • 04/22/06 First shots and a clean vet check.  I also picked up some Euckanuba puppy packs...problems is that I only have 11 of them for 12 pups.  The males are between 13-15 lbs and the females are 11-12 lbs.  Temps, heart beats, etc were all perfect.  A few of them became sick from the car ride so be sure to bring some towels with you when you pick your pup up.  Normally the first few rides are a little stressful for them.

  • 04/29/06 The pups turned 8 weeks old Monday, May 1st.
